Finding, highlighting, interviewing, and connecting startups, entrepreneurs, enthusiasts and investors all along the rust belt.

It’s been a while since I have had a chance to post a few articles in regards to local startups and for that I do apologize.  I will get a few of those out this weekend.  However, in absence of that, I have been posting some really great articles that pertain to all startups.  So in that vein, here is a great article about the role and goal of “process” for startups.

Since I’m in the mood to post links about “scalability”, here is one from a start-up valley veteran Ted Dziuba on technology scalability.

Scaling your your technology, operations, headcount, or anything else as it pertains to your business is critical for your ability to eventually succeed.  However, people often assume you must be able to scale to great heights “today”.  More often then not, that is indeed not the case and, does more harm then good.

All that being said, I found this article on ReadWriteWeb/Start and decided to pass it along.

Startup Weekend Cleveland update

It’s been a while since we heard from the guys at Startup Weekend Cleveland, however, word on the street is they set a few dates recently.  In fact, two very important dates.

First, everyone must be wondering what happened to all the companies that launched at the first conference.  Surely several have since exited and left their founders lavishing on a beach somewhere south of the equator.  Well, maybe not, however, to bring everyone up to speed on the hottest startups in Cleveland

the team has decided to hold an “in between” event (henceforth referred to as a “tweener event”) on June 10th.  Come see the progress these companies have made leveraging those hard earned Startup Weekend prize dollars.

Additionally, the Startup Weekend Cleveland team is has officially announced their second conference during global entrepreneurial weekend 2010 November 12th - 14th.

I will send additional updates as the Startup Weekend Cleveland team makes them available.

Cleveland Startup Blog

I want to quickly highlight and, “shout out” to Kyle Nowlin. Kyle has really jacked into the startup scene here in Cleveland and thus recently launched his new Cleveland Startup blog.

Quickly reviewing his first post, he is looking to highlight, connect, and profile regional startups here in Cleveland.  Kyle believes doing so will increase awareness within our region and help other potential entreprenuers on the fence make that tremendous leap.

I am really excited about this new blog (especially the video component) and how we can play off each other.  Additionally, how we can each push each other to be better and contribute to the local startup ground swell.

All that being said, I highly encourage everyone who is into the Cleveland startup scene start following this blog.
